GREAT-GRANDFATHER • RENOWNED SUFI & SAINT

حضرت شاہ محمد رکن الدین الواری (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ)

Dr. Uzair Mahmood's great-grandfather Hazrat Shah Muhammad Ruknuddin Alwari رحمۃ اللہ علیہ is counted among those famous saints and great Sufis of Pakistan and India. When he would leave his home to go to the mosque, the Hindus would see him in the markets and close their shops and hide. When they were asked why they were doing this? There was nothing harmful in the hands of this dervish. The Hindus there would reply that apparently this Babaji really had nothing in his hands. But when this dervish sets his eyes on a Hindu, he abandons his religion and spontaneously recites «لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ» and becomes a Muslim.

If we look at his academic achievements, he did a great favour to those who were familiar with the language by writing a book like Ruknuddin in the Fiqh of Worship in Urdu about a hundred years ago.

Shah Ahmed Noorani (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ):

"Whenever I visited a Muslim's house during my world travels in Africa, Asia, Europe, etc., I would definitely find 'Risala Rukn-ud-Din' in his house. Allah Almighty has given great fame to Risala Rukn-ud-Din."

Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan (RA) in Fatwa Razaviyya:
«مَوْلَانَا الْمُبَجَّلُ الْمُكَرَّمُ الْمَكِينُ جَعَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ بِهِمْ رُكْنَ الدِّينِ»
GRANDFATHER • QUTB-UL-WAQT

شاہ مفتی محمد محمود الواری (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ)

Shah Mufti Muhammad Mahmood Alwari

Qutb-ul-Waqt Shah Mufti Muhammad Mahmood Alwari (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) is a great personality. The great scholars of the Indian subcontinent, Mufti Azam Hind, Mufti Muhammad Mazharullah Shah رحمۃ اللہ علیہ, Syed Saeed Ahmad Kazmi Shah رحمۃ اللہ علیہ, Shaykh-ul-Islam Khwaja Qamaruddin Siyalvi رحمۃ اللہ علیہ, and Chief Justice Pir Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari, were not only appreciative of his complete access to external knowledge, but when these great personalities studied his works in Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh and Sufism and saw the academic and spiritual quality of the institution he established, "Rukn al-Islam Jamia Mujaddidiya", they also became fascinated by his spiritual grace.
