Dr. Sahibzada Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari (President: Al-Munazzamah Al-‘Alamiyah li Khirriji Al-Azhar and Member: Islamic Ideological Council of Pakistan) addressed the Fikr-e-Qur’an Seminar in the UK, focusing on the Qur’anic verses containing the words: “Afala ta‘qiloon” (Will you not use your reason?) and “Afala tatafakkaroon” (Will you not reflect?).

Dr. Uzair highlighted that the Qur’an repeatedly calls humanity to use intellect, reflect on the universe, and understand divine guidance. He urged participants to not only recite the Qur’an but also study it with Tafseer (exegesis), and most importantly, to instil this approach in their children.

He quoted the teaching of the Holy Prophet ﷺ:

“Teach your children three things: the love of your Prophet ﷺ, the love of his Ahl al-Bayt (family), and the recitation of the Qur’an.”

Drawing his message to a conclusion, Dr. Uzair stressed the need to create an environment of Qur’anic learning within homes, starting from early childhood, so that faith and character may be strengthened.
