At the Dhikr Qur’an wa Ahl al-Bayt Conference held in Lahore, Dr. Sahibzada Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari (Principal, Rukn al-Islam Jamia Mujaddadiya, and Member, Islamic Ideological Council Pakistan) delivered an enlightening address on the deep and inseparable connection between the Holy Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt (the noble family of the Prophet ﷺ).
Dr. Uzair highlighted that the entire life of the Ahl al-Bayt was a practical reflection of Qur’anic teachings. Their devotion, piety, and sacrifices serve as living examples of how the Qur’an is meant to be followed. He further explained that the Qur’an itself declares the love for the Ahl al-Bayt as obligatory, commanding the Ummah to honour and remain attached to them.
While interpreting the famous Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ:
“Indeed, I am leaving among you two precious trusts: the Book of Allah and my Ahl al-Bayt. As long as you hold firmly to both of them, you will never go astray.”
Dr. Uzair stressed that the Prophet ﷺ left behind two inseparable sources of guidance — the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt. The Qur’an provides divine words, while the Ahl al-Bayt embody its spirit, making them partners in leading the Ummah towards truth and righteousness.
In conclusion, he emphasised that true success lies in adhering to both the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt. Together, they remain a source of light and guidance, and detachment from either one risks falling into misguidance.
