Teacher’s Appreciation Party

Dr. Sahibzada Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari, CEO of RISE Foundation School and RISE Grammar School Karachi Campus, and Principal of Jamia Ruknul Islam, began the Staff Appreciation Party with a dinner and used the moment to share valuable training and reminders with his staff in his unique scholarly and thoughtful style.

1️⃣ He first reminded everyone that the food they were enjoying is a great blessing from Allah — yet countless people around the world, such as those in Palestine and many countries in Africa, are deprived of this blessing of food and drink.

2️⃣ Secondly, he advised that when such blessings are given, they must be valued and never wasted. He gave practical examples of wastefulness related specifically to teachers and staff in their daily duties, urging them to be mindful and to avoid unnecessary extravagance.

3️⃣ Thirdly, Dr. Uzair recited the supplication after eating — “Alhamdulillahilladhi at’amana wa saqana wa ja’alana minal muslimeen” — meaning “All praise is due to Allah who fed us, gave us drink, and made us among the Muslims.” He explained that through this short dua, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught Muslims to thank their Lord not only for food and drink but, more importantly, for the greatest blessing: being a Muslim who recognises Allah’s favours and is grateful for them.

4️⃣ During his talk, he beautifully encouraged everyone to send blessings (salawat) upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, explaining that all these countless blessings — food, drink, intellect, wisdom, understanding, and being a Muslim — are, in truth, all because of the blessed person of Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ.

5️⃣ Encouraging his teachers, staff, and management, Dr. Uzair highlighted that just as this appreciation party brings them happiness, they too must create the same atmosphere for their students. They should teach with love and encouragement, not harshness, because knowledge given with compassion and motivation helps students unlock their true potential and grow intellectually and emotionally.

In closing, he praised his team’s dedication, urged them to strengthen the institutions further, and reminded them of the mission they have built together through years of hard work — encouraging everyone to expand this mission even more. He concluded with heartfelt prayers for their continued success and blessings.

May Allah accept their efforts and grant them barakah. Ameen.
