At the Khatm-e-Qur’an gathering held in Noorani Jamia Masjid, Gulshan Kaneez Fatima, Surjani Town, Dr. Sahibzada Uzair Mahmood Al-Azhari (President, Al-Munazzamah Al-Alamiyah li Khirriji Al-Azhar – Pakistan Branch and Director, Al-Mu’assasah Al-‘Ilmiyah Al-‘Asriyah) delivered an enlightening address on the importance of the Qur’an and Sunnah in today’s turbulent times.

Dr. Uzair began by reminding the audience of the saying of the Holy Prophet ﷺ:

“As long as you hold firmly to the Qur’an and Hadith, you will never go astray.”

He emphasised that in this era of widespread trials and temptations, the only path to salvation is through adherence to the Qur’an and Sunnah. He further explained that wherever the recitation of the Qur’an takes place, Allah’s angels surround that place, and the supplications made there are accepted and blessed.

Highlighting the challenges of the modern age, he said:

“Today, when tribulations are raining down like a storm, people must seek guidance from authentic and qualified scholars of Islam. It is essential to connect the youth of the Ummah with the teachings of the Qur’an.”

Dr. Uzair also shed light on the legacy of the saints and scholars of Islam, who played a vital role in keeping communities spiritually alive. He lamented the rise of so-called spiritual leaders who neither possess knowledge of Shariah nor a true understanding of Sufism, yet mislead people and distort their beliefs.

The gathering concluded with heartfelt promises from attendees to bring their children closer to Islam and ensure that future generations remain firmly rooted in Qur’anic teachings.
