The Quranic Objectives of Prophethood: Knowledge and Tazkiyah
Citing the blessed verse of Surah Ali 'Imran (3:164):
"Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom."
Dr. Uzair observed that Allah designated the central missions of the Prophet ﷺ as reciting the divine verses, purifying hearts, and teaching the Book and wisdom. Participating in this gathering to reflect on the Seerah and learn the religion directly realizes this prophetic goal.
He recounted that in the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, when the Companions formed circles of remembrance and recitation and another circle dedicated to learning and teaching, the Holy Prophet ﷺ commended both, but specifically chose to sit with the learning circle, declaring: "They are learning and teaching, and I have been sent as a teacher." This demonstrates the supreme love and priority the Holy Prophet ﷺ held for those engaged in the transmission of knowledge.
