The Prophetic Mission: Allah’s Supreme Grace and Favor
Substantiating his talk with the glorious Quranic verse from Surah Ali 'Imran (3:164):
"Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom."
Dr. Uzair explained that Allah the Almighty specifically described the commissioning of the Holy Prophet ﷺ as His sublime favor (Mann) upon humanity. When the Creator describes the arrival of the Messenger ﷺ as His supreme grace, rejoicing over his blessed arrival is genuine recognition and gratitude for this divine bounty. The verse explicitly delineates the overarching objectives of Prophethood: reciting divine signs, purifying inner souls (Tazkiyah), and imparting knowledge of the Book and wisdom (Hikmah). Hence, participating in gatherings of Milad is both a joyful celebration of the Prophet’s coming and a practical conduit for acquiring knowledge, spiritual refinement, and guidance.
Prophetic Precedent: The Sahabah Assembling in Gratitude
Concurring with authentic traditions, Dr. Uzair cited the well-known Hadith from Sahih Muslim: "Mā ajlasakum?" (What has caused you to sit here?). When the Holy Prophet ﷺ observed a group of companions sitting together, he asked why they were gathered. The Sahabah humbly replied: "We sat down to remember Allah, praise Him, and thank Him for guiding us to Islam and blessing us with you." This authentic narration establishes that assembling to remember Allah, express gratitude for His bounties, and commemorate the Holy Prophet ﷺ was indeed the cherished practice of the noble Companions.
